    Pc fans still on and motherboard lights still on whilst being pc being restarted.

    Why do my pc cant restart. When i restart from the windows it doesnt work as well as manually pressing restart on the case. Also when there is problems in the system and it does automatic repair, usually it will automatically restart but it only turns off the monitor and motherboard lights still on and fans still on.And it stays like that forever. Is this some kind of system problem or some hardware ones.

    we may be mixing up terms.

    Restart is the Windows process of shutting down the PC and restarting.
    pressing ‘restart on the case’ is actually doing a Reset.

    Restart has to close any opened programs, stop running background processes, write event logs, any much more.
    Reset simply bypasses all that and goes straight to restarting the PC.

    the lights and fans will stay on depending on if it is restarting or resetting, on what needs to be done, and how quickly it can do it. they may appear to stay on, when in fact they may be going off and on really quickly.

    those things staying - or not staying - on isn’t important. why the PC needs to be repeatedly doing multiple automatic repairs is more alarming and would point at a hard drive fault.

        so you can’t get the PC started at all now?

        if you can, once you are in, do this;
        get Speccy from here; Speccy - Download Builds

        in Speccy, click File > Publish Snapshot > Copy to Clipboard > Close.
        now you can paste (Ctrl+V) that link into a post.

        if it won’t start, open up the side cover and remove the memory and with a soft bristled brush, wipe the memory sticks curcuitry, the motherboard slot it come out off and the sticks contact points. reseat the stick and see if that helps.
