Hello, my computer runs very slow when trying to load computer games. I even have to keep games such as LOL or D2 on the lowest possible settings and it still jumps around during game play. will a SSD help with the load times or the game being choppy? It’s not my video card as it’s only about a year old. But, everything else is old. Also, what SSD would work for my PC? Specs below. Thanks
Processor old - Intel(R) Core™ i7-2600 CPU @ 3.40GHz 3.40 GHz
Do not forget to post the make and model of the PSU.
Download then run Speccy (free) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.
To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:
In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.
In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.
Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.
your rig will only ever be as fast as its slowest part.
if your bottleneck is I/O to the drive, then yes, a SSD will help.
a SSD will simply be awesome overall, so consider getting one as a bare minimum.
and even though the graphics card may be above average, it is pointless when used on an old mobo that doesn’t have the PCI-x lanes to support it, nor probably does the power supply.
than there is the 2nd gen Core i7 processor. they are up to 12th gen now - more cores, more threads.
