    Half dead PC

My PC decided it was not going to sleep, even when I forced it to it would wake up again after a few minutes and even when I shut it down it restarted itself after a few minutes. This had been going on for 4 days and in desperation I held the power button in for the obligatory 5 seconds and the PC shut down and stayed shut down. The only thing now is it won’t wake up!! When I press the power button the lights come on, the internal case fans come on but the screen, mouse and keyboard remain dead!
Before I go mad spending a fortune on components does anyone have any experience of this and could it be hardware or software related.
Before any of this happened there had been no software or hardware changes and no downloads.

      Can you reach safe mode?
Can you boot the PC from a recovery/Windows installation media?
When you say you ‘shut it down’ was that placing the PC in hibernation or a full shutdown?
I would remove all USB peripherals inc mouse & keyboard & then restart the PC. If still not working then unplug the PC, remove the battery (if a laptop) & remove the CMOS battery & then long press the on/off button to discharge any residual energy & leave things for 15 minutes. Then replace the CMOS battery, laptop battery & plug the power back in & start the PC.

Sorry to be a bit vague on the specs at the moment, not at home to check it, all I can remember is its a Ryzen 6 cpu on a Gigabyte motherboard. Will post the full spec when I am back home later. The only change that was made prior to the problem occurring was a switch from plusnet to sky broadband and the accompanying sky router.

Can’t do anything with it, only the case fans come on and nothing else. It was only when I did the full shutdown that it would not come on again, prior to that it would wake from hibernation mode on its own after a few minutes.
When I get home I will try the steps you have suggested and see if that does the trick.
