We can only wish you good luck (y)

NB: Anyone that you know that you can ask if you can use their PSU to test in your PC.

If the new CMOS doesn’t fix the problem is it then down to the PSU?

I don’t know anyone who has a PSU I can borrow. If needed I’ll purchase another.

Ask a local tech or tech store what they will charge for testing the system, under no circumstances should you go to the likes of PC World etc, they are clueless.

I’ve tried a new CMOS battery, still the same results.

Alternative RAM and PSU need to be tried in the PC, I could be wrong but I reckon that the PSU will be ok but not confident that the RAM is.

Ok, I’ll try and get a techy type guy to come round. I’ll post whatever the outcome is.

Many thanks for your help (y)

At this point getting the system tested using someone else’s parts is the cheapest option, we wouldn`t want you spending anything that you do not need to.

You are welcome and please do keep us advised, good luck meanwhile (y)

Had someone come round and look at my pc, had to wait for my quarantine to finish. The PSU is working ok, the RAM is ok, the motherboard is not ok. It appears the board has decided life’s not worth living anymore.
I’ve decided it’s not worth getting this replaced so I’m going to order a brand new PC. I’ve retrieved all my data from both drives so that’s one good thing.

Many thanks for your help. This thread can be closed now.
