Crack up settings?

Hey.

Sometime ago I made a couple of posts about my prebuilt PC.

My main problem was that my PSU was bad…
I’ve now bought a new PSU and I have also bought an identical RAM stick with 16 GB and 3200 MHz (the ram is coming to me next week).

So, I have changed the PSU, and everything works perfectly so far. Been using the PC the whole day without problems.
Here is the PSU I bought: Corsair RM Series™ RM750 80 PLUS Gold Fully Modular.

It was difficult to change at first but then I traced everything and saw that I only needed 3 cables lol.

Anyways my question is: can I crack up my power profile to AMD Ryzen High Performance without worry?
And if so, do I need to wait until I get my other RAM stick?

And one more thing: now that I have my PSU is their settings, I can change to make my pc performance even more than the power schemes without overclocking it? Because I don’t want to overclock it, don’t think it would be worth doing for my case.

As reference to what I have and some specs:

My specs are:
AMD Ryzen™ 5: 3600.
GeForce RTX 2060.
16 GB Ram. (Another 16 GB 3200MHz incoming)

Regards, MrLowBot!

Ultra and High Performance are a form of overclocking that is known to cause stability and overheating issues and the setting should only be used for gaming type notebooks that have a discrete GPU that needs the extra power.

What you see is what you get when it comes to PSUs as in the computers hardware will only draw from the PSU the power that it needs, stability is achieved by efficiency and that is why you need a Gold efficiency rated PSU when there is a gaming spec GPU present.

Best advice I can give you, fit the new RAM when it arrives and stick with the Balanced Power Plan, you will get improved performance from the RAM being able to work in dual channel and avoid getting yourself in trouble by sticking with stock settings.

I’ll assume the rig also has a SSD?

Of course 32GB is better then 16GB but how much of that you’ll physically see in increased speed may be limited.
Will all depend on the program, but you’ll certainly be able to run many apps at once without issue.

Yeah its for gaming.

And it has an SSD on the motherboard but i might buy another SSD later on as well. So i guess i’ll stick to balance.

As was explained in your first thread, crashing and freezing are two entirely different things.

What was the computer being used for when it froze.

What actually happened, the mouse stop working or did the mouse cursor move but left and right mouse click did not work etc.

Any noise at all, freezing is commonly caused by overheating and if audio is playing at the time you will quite often hear screeching sounds.

Have you checked to see if any updates were being installed when it froze.

My mouse froze and so did the rest of the PC for like 3 seconds and then the pc restarted. I was just watching youtube and reading from this thread whilst it was happening. And i booted up my pc not too long ago so i know that it wouldn’t be overheating. No updates were happening as this happened.

Why could this be?

MTB log, have you not provided one before

Download MiniToolBox and save the file to the Desktop.

Close the browser and run the tool, check the following options;

List last 10 Event Viewer Errors
List Installed Programs
List Devices (Only Problems)
List Users, Partitions and Memory size

Click on Go.

Post the resulting log in your next reply for us if you will.
