B550-F mobo with built in wifi - wifi not working

hello everyone. i recently just bought my first setup for gaming and i got through installing windows when i then tried to connect to wifi. the one and only option that pops up when setting up wifi is to plug in an ethernet cable. this specific mobo comes with built in wifi, so all i did was attach the two gold cords to the wifi ports on the mobo. i have tried resetting my pc, resetting my network settings, looking in the bios menu, and unplugging and replugging in multiple cords. any suggestions?

Did the PC come with any driver CD?
Is WiFi listed under device manager?
What’s the make & mdel of the PC?
Is there a WiFi icon under Action Centre? If so what happens if you right click on this & choose settings?
Have you set up WiFi to connect to your router?

the pc did not come with any driver cd
wifi is not listed under device manager
the motherboard is ASUS ROG B550-F
the wifi icon is not under the action center, only ethernet.
wifi connection is set up on my router.
I asked this question on reddit too, and was told to download wifi drivers off of the ASUS website using my phone, so that is what I will try to do when I get off of work.

Check to see if it’s listed under device manager>view>show hidden devices. Also check to see if there are any unknown devices in the list - may be under USB.
Are you sure it has a WiFi module on the motherboard? If it is a desktop then usually these do not come with WiFi but do have Bluetooth so the wires may be for that.
