Hello,
I recently built a PC less than two weeks ago and it has been crashing everyday when gaming or running a power stress test with OCCT. There is no BSOD message showing when a crash happens, the monitor will flicker for 5 seconds or so and then the PC will restart.
When looking at the event viewer I usually get these error and critical error messages when the PC crashes.
[ol]
[li]The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.[/li][li]The previous system shutdown at 2:51:01 PM on β2021-β06-β27 was unexpected.[/li][li]A fatal hardware error has occurred. Reported by component: Processor Core. Error Source: Machine Check Exception. Error Type: Cache Hierarchy Error. Processor APIC ID: 2. The details view of this entry contains further information.[/li][/ol]
Below are some troubleshooting things that I have done.
[ul]
[li]I have ran stress tests with OCCT on CPU, linpack, memory, 3D, VRAM, and power. All run fine after a test of 30 minutes, except power. Power test will shutdown and restart the PC at 1 to 2 minutes, sometimes it will not crash at all. But it is the only test that has crashed my PC fairly consistently.[/li][li]I have swapped out the power supply and it still crashes.[/li][li]I have reset the PC and have had a fresh install of Windows 10 multiple times.[/li][li]I have moved the GPU down a slot to give the CPU and CPU cooler more space for cooling and airflow.[/li][li]I have reset the BIOS multiple times.[/li][li]I have turned off automatically restart upon system failure to view if there is a BSOD message, but there is no message and the monitor will flicker until I manually hold down the power to reboot it.[/li][li]I have removed the CMOS battery for 10 minutes before putting it back in multiple times.[/li][/ul]
Below are the specs.
[ul]
[li]OS: Windows 10 Home[/li][li]OS Version: 10.0.19043[/li][li]Motherboard: Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite[/li][li]CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 8-Core Processor[/li][li]CPU Cooler: be quiet! Dark Rock 4[/li][li]RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4 3600 Mhz DIMM[/li][li]GPU: Radeon RX 570 4 GB[/li][li]PSU: Corsair RM 750 80+ Gold Fully Modular[/li][li]Storage: Western Digital Blue SN550 NVME 1 TB[/li][li]Fans: 2x be quiet! Silent Wings 2 140mm[/li][li]Case: NZXT 510 (x2 stock fans)[/li][li]BIOS: F32[/li][/ul]
Any help, suggestions, or guidance of what to do would be much appreciated, thank you!
