Motherboard "clicking" sound - help

Good day,

I’ve read on the internet about that sound, everyone is saying lots of different stuff so I’m not sure what to do or how to fix that.
Sometimes when I turn on or off PC, when I play games, download videos, pictures, random files etc., - motherboard makes that “clicking” sound.
So far I had no problem with games or anything else, but that sound is more usual then before. I bought this PC like 2-3 weeks ago and it did make that sound when I first turned it on. I thought it should be like that because I never had those kind of parts for PC, thought it was normal until I read stuff on internet.
[COLOR=rgb(251, 160, 38)]- Sound isn’t loud, it’s really quiet but it still can be heard.

CPU - AMD Ryzen 5 5600x 3.70 Ghz
GPU - nVidia GeForce ASUS DUAL-RTX2060-O6G-EVO GDDR6
Motherboard - ASRock B550M-HDV
Socket - AMD AM4
RAM - 2x8 kingston HyperX 3.200 Mhz DDR4
SSD - 512 gb
HDD - 1 Tb
Power supply - chieftec elp-600s (600w)
PC case - CoolerMaster MasterBox K501L

Windows 10 Pro N
OS build - 19042

Hello

Usually that clicking sound does refer to the HDD.. I would do a health check on that HDD thru your pc drive health check software.

I’ve done that, I’ve installed CrystalDiskInfo and SSD and HDD are in good health, I think that’s a good software for that, I don’t know any other software

Yes it is, i use that software my self. You may have to open up the case to find the clicking noise then.. It could be a fan..

Well it looks like its alright, I mean its not broken or anything, its not touching wires or any other part of case that it shouldnt be touched. I’d bring back the PC to the shop I bought from but Its far and it will took lots of time to get it back. Can this sound be really harmful for PC? I mean can this happen if CPU or GPU is broken in some way?

Yes since it could be a sign of HDD failure which can cause you to loose data.
Fan cutting into wires and end up frying computer if not starting a fire (worst case)
Fan hitting something and or bearing going out on a fan causing failure and system overheating.

I’ve just checked again wires and everything seems fine. Every wire is bit far from all fans.
I’ve also checked temperature while playing games and it was 80-83 deegres on 80% fan speed. Is that good or should I change to 100% on 80 deegres? Maybe temperature is problem for motherboard, I really have no clue, I am not familiar about PC or its components.

I’m looking right now, HDD temperature is at 35° and it says GOOD.
SSD is 66° and says GOOD 100%. I am a bit panic so I have to ask, why isnt it saying GOOD 100% on HDD like it says on SSD? Or is it normal that way?

Without changing anything in MSI Afterburner or BIOS, my temperature was 80-83° while playing games. Then i’ve changed if GPU hits 80°, fans will work 100% (Before they worked 80% on 80°) . There was a bit change, it went to 77-80°. Thats all I’ve done so far but fans were much louder then before.

I havent tried any of that, will try today. Btw, yesterday there was no clicking at all. Havent heard it whole day. And when I hear it, its not constantly, sometimes It can be heard once when I download different pictures, sometimes It can be heard randomly while Im not even near PC.
I’ve been told to change mouse and keyboard, luckily I had spare keyboard and mouse from old PC and ive changed that, and sound was still there but a bit less then usual.

Is it possible to find some kind of log from windows to see if there is an error? Im not so much familiar with PCs so I dont know much. Thats why im here

If there were error message that were coming up then yes.

If you do not feel comfortable opening the system and doing this we suggest that you take it to a repair shop.

Alright, thanks for helping me out, I will try playing games today and download some stuff, If that sound start again, I will take it to repair shop
