Change disk

Hi… I have 2 desk top computers, one, “Acer”, with a SSD disk 500Gb (Windows 10 pro 64-bit, CPU Intel Pentium E2140) and the other a “Lenovo Think Centre M92P” with a disk HDD 250Gb (Windows 7 pro 64-bit, CPU Intel Core i5 3470)… Both work OK though the HDD works much slower than the SSD… We all know that… !! But if I, or, can I, change them over (the connections being the same, sure) or must I go into the BIOS and change something or not ? You see I want to get the SSD into the “Lenovo” as the CPU Intel Core i5 3470 enables me to get into virtualization “Oricale VM Virtual Box”… much fun !! while technically it would work, you’ll run into a couple of issues the first time you start it up.
there will be different hardware which will get detected at boot up and Windows will want to install all that, plus Windows 10 will require re-activation due to said changes.
depending on where Win10 came from on that SSD machine (OEM or retail copy) will determine how far you get.

personally, i’d be getting a 250GB SSD for the Lenovo and reinstalling Windows afresh. you’ll get your desireced fast speeds on both units then and avoid all the re-activation mess.
