    Tried everything and no luck

I’ve been having some pc problems for a couple of months now. Started with specific games freezing the full system, then anytime there were more than a few processes going on at the same time it would freeze until eventually, I was testing fate anytime I booted it up.

I tried replacing the psu and that helped for a few weeks before the problems came back again. I backed up my data and tried to clean install the os but it started freezing before it could even load. I took it to a shop and was essentially told to replace the ssd, take the whole thing apart and rebuild it. Which I did including replacing the thermal paste on the heat sink.

Since then I’ve tried to boot windows 10 from a usb I installed it on from both a UEFI partition and just from BIOS. When I boot the UEFI, the whole system turns off and resets, and when I try to boot from BIOS, the system essentially ignores me and goes right back to the BIOS menu. I tried shorting the cmos and also pulling the battery and then shorting it but same problems.

Not sure what the next steps are but I’m definitely willing to try anything at this point. Any and all help would be much appreciated

    thermaltake gold 80+ 850W

    Hi Snake
    1. Can we loose all data on the hdd if needed or do we need to recover data first - I am guessing not because

    I backed up my data

Have you checked your data is valid
    1. When you boot to bios can you see the HDD listed ?

replacing the thermal paste on the heat sink.

Have you done this before and you know what you are doing? Sorry to ask but we need to know your skill level

There is no data that needs to be backed up. All the data is on a separate external hard drive that isn’t hooked up while I’m attempting to launch here. I’m using a brand new ssd that shouldn’t have any data at all on it and trying to boot windows from a usb. I do see my card listed when I boot to bios. As well as the usb drive I’m attempting to boot from.

Not a problem at all! I have not replaced the thermal paste before however, it is a custom build from a few years back so I did apply the paste the first time. I wiped down what I could with some 100% cotton pads, then put some 99% isopropyl alcohol on the pads and wiped it down with that to get it all off. I left it to dry for a bit and then applied the new thermal paste.

Not sure what you mean here. You are trying to run Win 10 like a usb live ? OR
Did you make the win 10 tool?
Go here Click On Me and choose the second option Use the tool to create installation media.
You will need a usb drive at least 8gb and best not more than 32gb.
Go to you bios settings and make sure that the usb is the FIRST boot item.
Boot from the usb and see if you can install windows
