Need help with where to plug the led lights

I’m getting new PC next week and it’ll have h61m-p20 (g3) motherboard. I have some red led strip, 2 pins, sais “POWER LED”. Can anyone tell me where to plug them exactly? Thank you, I’ll put the pictures aswell.

      Hi
Below the blue strip connector which is the Video is JFP1
      Attached is the pin layout.
      Cheers

yeah, don’t use PW1 (sorry veeg), that is not POWER, it’s to enable or disable USB wake up from S3/S4 or S5 states.
your jumper configuration is set to disable.

as PeterOz has said, JFP1 pins 2 and 4 should be what you want for a single 5volt Power LED, but your picture shows you are trying to connect a strip of LED’s, so it will depend on the voltage of your strip.

perhaps a better bet would be the positive and negative terminals of one of those fan headers.
your 2pin jumper on those LED strips, do you know with is + and which is - ?

          Hey Bruce
What do you think about the TPM for power ?

the TPM header doesn’t have + and - pin together, so the 2pin cable he shows in his picture will be no good as it is, would have to cut the double connector plug off and push on single ones.

also, I’m not sure how the PC will respond when it detects something drawing current from the TPM circuit, hence thinking it is in use, but then not detecing any response when it tries to ping the 5,7,9,11 address & data pins.

getting a molex adapter would be best I think, but again, molex cables can do 5volt (from the red) or 12volt (from the yellow) so it all depends on the number of LEDs we are talking.

you should be wary of plugging things into ports/headers on the mobo just because you can or because they fit.
the circuit you are piggy-backing off could have a controller chip and be configured for a power/amp/volt range - adding and LED strip (in this case), while maybe working initially, could have large repercussions later on.

I’ve even gone off my 1st idea of using a fan header. yes LED’s draw little current, but a strip or two would draw far more than a fan.
leave the mobo out of this and get your power from the PSU would be my suggestion.

Yeah I have never used a TPM that’s why I asked if you had any reservations - Thanks
