    Mic keeps cutting out start/mid sentence

    hey, i have a problem with my mic in discord (at least), when i talk, it often cuts out start/mid sentence, as if the sensitivity is too low, but its not, for example, if i continuously yell in my mic, then the output is kinda like a wave, u hear for 1s then it cuts out for .1-.5 s then u can hear again then cuts out again, tried front and back ports, and 2 different headset mics, nothing changed, only 1 difference i noticed was if i use the discord through browser then its cutting out only half as much, tried updating audio card drivers, nothing, any ideas?

    Are you using push to talk or voice activation.
    Some Mics have a mic gain and are you talking in the the proper side

      push to talk, but when testing i tried both methods and same results
      headsets i have r Lioncast lx50 n HyperX Cloud Stinger
      Mic gain, not too sure about that, but i have disabled “automatic gain control”
      Proper side? u mean the side on which the mic has “holes”? if so yes the correct side

        @Bastet
        Is this only happening in discord?
        What happens when you use Voice Recorder does the same thing happen?
        Checked sound setting from with in windows to make sure they are correct.

        Some mics have what is called cardiac and omni directional

        Since you are using a head set then you are correct.

          I have no experience with using a headset mike so the general suggestion is to ensure there’s no fluff or dust in the socket & try using compressed air to clean this out. Ensure the jack is fully inserted.

            i figured it out, the problem was the “echo cancelation” option in discord, with it off it seems to work fine now

            thanks anyways

              Glad to hear it was just a setting.
