    Memory problems

Hi Folks, hope your all keeping well in these odd times.

I have a desktop PC (well my mother in law does !) and I wanted to upgrade the ram. I researched what the board could take (Intel Desk top Board DQ5 7TM) and found it would take 16gig.
    I purchased 4 x 4 gig cards which were PC3 12800 to replace the 4 x 2 gig cards,

Each time I switched it on it within a few seconds it would re set and continued to do this.

Ok tried re seating and changing round the orders to eliminate the chance of a faulty card, No success, So I re ordered a better branded memory 2 x 8 gig cards, placed them in the 2 blue slots then tried the 2 black slots. (Corsair again no success.

Is there something simply I’m missing or some sort of alteration I need to do elsewhere in the bios etc ?

    Manual for that motherboard

    https://www.intel.com/content/dam/su...chProdSpec.pdf

You can get it to 16 GB you just need to get 4 GB double sided RAM.
Basically you get a double sided 4 GB stick each side reads 2 GB.

    Refer to this link
