    Unknown video issues

    I recently got a new RTX 3070. I hooked everything up properly and booted up. Only one monitor came on and had smeared colors slowly sliding across the screen from right to left continuously. Nothing else would display but these waves of color. I currently have: Corsair CX 750M PSU, i5 7600K CPU, G.Skill Flare X 2x8GB, and an ASUS 170 Pro Gaming motherboard. Also a 2tb seagate HDD and a 500GB evo 850 SSD. I am running windows 10. I upgraded my GPU from a GTX 970 and my PC works perfectly when I swap back after trying the new GPU.

    Did you remove the old drivers? Did you install the new drivers?       Shouldn`t be used anywhere near anything more than the most basic of add on GPUs, Corsair recommend the CX range for the below;

      “CX Series Modular power supply units are an excellent choice for basic system builds and desktop PC computer upgrades, offering high reliability, low noise, and the flexibility of modular cabling.”

      Note the word “basic” see Which power supply do you need?

        That seemed to work for me. I didn’t think it made much of a difference if I removed the old drivers. It still had some bars across my screen but once I installed the new drivers it works perfectly now. Thanks for the help!

          I will also most likely upgrade my PSU as well to prevent potential further issues. Thanks for the info!
