GPU fans doesn't work. (Please I need help)

Hello! I have a dell system Optiplex 9020
System:

CPU: intel core i3 - 4130 3,40ghz
RAM: 16gb ddr3 1600 mhz
VGA: asus gt 640 2gb ddr3
I changed the PSU from 290 watt to 450 watt
Okay so I installed my graphics card into the motherboard but the graphics card’s fans doesn’t work. Why? In my old motherboard the fans were working perfectly. What should I do? I am trying to solve this problem for 2 days straight and nothing happened. Please I need help. Furthermore, when the PC boots the GPU fans start to spin and then stops immediately.

Some cards the fans may only come on when the card needs then to.

My PSU model is:

CoolerMaster MasterWatt 450W Semi-fanless Modular 80+ Bronze MPX-4501-AMAAB-EU I bought it from this site ( https://www.e-gate.gr/555005/coolerm...-4501-amaab-eu )

also my motherboard is a custom dell motherboard the model is a Dell 0PC5F7 ( https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32895989330.html )

The fan of my graphics card (when I had it in my old motherboard) was in use all of the time. Not only when the graphics card’s temprature was rising up. When I am using the MSI afterburner and setting my GPU fan speed into 100% or 80% (manually) the fan is starting to spin. The problem is that my GPU’s fan are not spining automatically only if I set it so. I don’t know what to do anymore. My GPU is a GT 640 model. This model doesn’t have the start and stop mode for the rising tempratures.

Is this something that just started since or that has been going on since the new motherboard?

Have you tried both display slots?

If you still have the old motherboard does the card work in that still?

Assemble the system outside of the case on a piece of cardboard and see if it works.

Yeah this started after I installed my gpu to the new motherboard. I have tried many things to make it work such as:

Removing my ram and let only one slot but the fan was doing the same thing, also I done what you said about the system outside the case long before I had written my problem here, In my old motherboard the card was working all the time. I don’t know what it is honestly this is the first time I came across to this problem.

Yeap I have tried safe mode, and the second slot of my motherboard but it is all the same. Also I have removed the CMO battery and replace it back. But again nothing.

does the graphics card require additional power connectors?
that PSU has a 24 pin ATX connector, the motherboard doesn’t, how did you connect the two?

Ι Used an ATX adaptor that it converts the 24 pins to the 8 pins. ( Amazon.com ). Also no my graphics card doesn’t requires an additional power connector.

You have also made sure that the motherboard is not shoring out on the case?

Just to confirm when you assembled they system outside of the case the same thing was happening?
and under a load the fans are still off?

Yeap exactly that, I tested the system outside the case and the same thing happened. When I short-circuited the power pins with a screwdriver and the system had booted the GPU fan spun off no more than 1 sec (the same happened when I had the system inside the case) after that it stopped.

change only the PSU back to the Dell one and GPU fans work.

if so, your problem is that ATX adapter not supplying whatever extra power is needed by the graphics card.

Uhm no I used my old PSU with the gt640 the 290 watt (and that was the time when I saw that the fan was not working). That’s why I changed the PSU because I thought that the old Dell PSU (290 watt) could not support the GPU. So not it is not the PSU i have 3 PSUs and i tested the three of them in the Dell motherboard. My third one is an old 320 watt (and it did the same thing the GPU fan didn’t spin.

I’d be trying another graphics card if you can get your hands on one, like say, from work, a friend, neighbour or such.
does the GPU fan spin freely when you try to manually spin it?
does its fan have its power cables securely connected to the GPU board?
