Ordered all the parts, never built before

Hello all,

With the holiday prices and skyrocketing prices of consoles, I’ve decided to just build a PC instead. I’ve never done this before and have finally decided to do it for 2 reasons: Better gaming performance/experience and having the satisfaction of having built it myself. I was hoping someone could give me some tips/advice on the physical process of building. I’ll post a list of the parts I ordered below. Believe me when I say that literally anything helps.

The parts include what I’ve posted in the photos, as well as an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070.

Did you check for compatibility of the parts? Just make sure you install the stand offs correctly..

I’m not saying it’s a hard job, not at all in fact.
to prove that, just look at the video of Superman Henry Cavill building one.
Google everything you want to learn and read the manual.
If you have ever played with Meccano or Lego and know your way around a screwdriver, you’ll be fine.

Yes I did. I just ordered the cooling system as well and made sure the radiator would fit on there.

If you have ever played with Meccano or Lego and know your way around a screwdriver, you’ll be fine.

This makes me feel a lot better, so thanks for that. I’m extremely nervous because parts aren’t cheap, so I don’t want to mess anything up. I will most definitely be utilizing the internet!

just a couple of cautionary notes.

veeg mentioned one - the brass motherboard standoffs. put one under every mounting hole the motherboard has.
double check the processor chip and how it orientates into its slot on the motherboard (nerds shorten it to mobo). it only slips in one one so you can’t **** it up but be careful with the pins, very easy to bend. only touch it on its sides.
memory sticks only go in one way, so don’t force them, although they do tend to need a firm push onto the mobo until you hear the satisfying ‘click’.
be sure to connect all the power cables from the power supply to the mobo.

in short, you’ll soon discover most things are ‘keyed’ to only go in one way.

the front panel cables for Reset, On/Off, and LED’s (hard drive, power) and the headers (geek word for where they connect on the mobo) for the fans will all be explained in the mobo manual.
