Acer LCD Monitor has colorful vertical lines

My Acer ED2 series monitor has these vertical lines show up once I start up my PC. It started happening after I clicked “update and shut down” when logging off my computer last Tuesday or Wednesday. And I’m wondering if it has anything to do with the monitor itself or is it the graphics card?

Do you have another screen that you can try with your PC or alternatively try the Acer screen on another PC, a notebook that has the appropriate video port will do.

I was able to hook to monitor up to my old computer and it’s working just fine. But my other monitor does have the ports I need.

The test was to see if it was the monitor or the GPU that had the issue and was not suggesting that you swap monitors for the long term.

Now that we have ruled out the monitor as the cause we will need to know your computers hardware information.

Please provide information about your computer, is it a custom build or brand name such as Dell or HP, if a brand name, provide the model name or series number (not serial) if a custom build post the brand and model name or number for the CPU, MB, the RAM (including the amount) add on video card if one is used and the PSU (power supply unit) providing these details will enable folk to better assist you.

Being that we have determined that the monitor is not the problem and the OP has not bothered to come back this thread will be marked as solved.
