New SSD failing POST, SMART tests seem to be fine

    Hi,

I got a new PC a few days ago and, whenever it is booted for the first time in the day, POST comes up with a warning to back up my data and replace my hard drive. The name of my SSD flashes up momentarily before this message, and checking in BIOS confirms that the SSD is failing the test while my HDD is passing it. However, the SMART values for the SSD are essentially perfect, and it passes both short and long tests in SeaTools. What’s interesting to note is that my several year old external drive failed the long generic test in SeaTools, but the warning persists even after this is unplugged. Furthermore, subsequent boot-ups for the day don’t have the POST warning.

These are the results of the POST tests, according to the BIOS:

And here is the POST warning:

    PC Specs:
    MOTHERBOARD: ASUS PRIME H410M-A
    CPU: Intel Core i3 10100
    GPU: GeForce GTX 1650 SUPER
    SSD: Crucial CT500P2SSD8 500GB NVmE
    HDD: Toshiba P300 1TB
    MEMORY: Adata 2x8GB 2666mhz

    Hello

Sounds like you may want to use the warranty .
