    The Ram Upgrade issue

    Hey everyone,
So the plan was to use the second slot available for RAM. I already have 8 gigs of RAM installed and I wanna put another 8 gigs.

The existing one that I have is:

    ADATA 8GB DDR4 2400Mhz UDIMM

    The problem is :
    1. I can’t find the exact same one anymore
    2. I don’t know what all needs to match if I go ahead and buy RAM from a different company.

(P.S. I am pretty bad at this)

you could check the motherboard manufactures manual for the memory compatibility list, but that too would be of that era of the memory around at the time.

you could take it into a PC shop and they can add more RAM and test it in the rig then and there.
that’ll prove it’s good enough to boot from, as to longer term errors, who knows.

so the only real option is to get two new sticks and sell that one.

Find compatible DRAM memory and SSD upgrades for your PC or Laptop with our Crucial Advisor tool or Crucial System Scanner.

You can also use this site to scan the system and it would tell you what you can use or manually put in the make and model.

What is the make and model of the system.
