What is wrong with the RAM slot on my PC?

Inexperienced PC user. Tried to clean out PC and when i powered it on, it beeped rapidly for half a minute (maybe 5 times a second) and then powers off, then powers on and repeats the process. i took out one RAM stick and it managed to turned on. I put a different RAM stick in that empty slot and the same problem happened. Is that RAM slot faulty? Could there be dust inside that is causing the problem? It bothers me that I cant use all my RAM.

Also my CPU temps are higher than normal could that be caused by heatsink not in properly or maybe thermal paste needing to be replaced?

Did you remove the heat sink form the CPU then yes the thermal paste will need to be removed and reapplied.

i cleaned the heatsink and sealed it in properly and it runs about 45 idle. Is that OK?

You did apply thermal paste correct?

Hello yes I applied the *thermal paste. I’m getting about 60 C while playing, before I was getting in the 90’s. Is that good? Idle is ±40

With out knowing what they system specs are and airflow and what they system is used for hard to say

Monitor they system for a while and see if it stays constant. From what you have posted seems ok.
