Are you sure that XMP and Auto are not two different options, not an overclocker so have no idea but they both have different user profile numbers looking at your pic.

Yeah i m sure. Clicking on XMP Profile basically changes the Auto next to it to one of the profiles that are shown above. I ve changed it to profile 1 and as seen in the new picture the RAMs speed seems to be appropriate to their real number. Also where the first picture was taken the 2400 changed to 3200 there too.

I m just wondering about the Target CPU Frequency which is 5000Mhz. I have absolutly no clue but does the XMP profile not only change RAM speeds?

Maybe i should after all try a BIOS update despite the new PSU beeing delivered tomorrow? I ll check if there is anything in the updates that looks like its fixing the issues i have. Doesnt hurt to read up on that

All I can suggest for now then is to see if you are able to borrow a known good 650W or above PSU to test in your system, the present PSU does need to be gotten rid of but you could also do with confirming that all of your other hardware is ok, even if it means getting the system checked by a local tech or tech store.

I ll have the new PSU delivered tomorrow and i guess i ll see if that brought a change or not. I ll update this thread as soon as i have changed the PSU to the new one which i m planning to do right away. So my update can be expected tomorrow but a bit earlier into the evening.

No problem, reply when you are ready (y)

NB: Sorry missed answering your XMP question, eXtreme Memory Profile and nothing to do with any other hardware.

First of all the actual speccy report:

Sooo.First of all changing the PSU took way longer than i expected but i ve got it done and so far so good. Thanks for beeing patient.
So i ve done/tried the following things now:
              • I changed the PSU and got everything running
              • Put the settings in my UEFI to default and switched to XMP profile with 3200Mhz
At first i had the RAM sticks in slot 1 and 3 and i let Firefox open and started a game. After like 20 something minutes the Game completly froze. The process not the PC. This is very rare in League of Legends, in fact i have only been experiencing this lately like 4 times already and only when i had something else running (lightroom or firefox in particular)
So here i was wondering what else might be wrong. To me for example it looks fishy that the speccy report shows the RAM as unknown @1600Mhz. Should that bother me? Taskmanager shows its running @3200 so does BIOS (see screenshots)

The Voltages do definitly look better and i figured the DRAM voltage is 1.350 because the XMP profile rates it at that and sets the value. So that seems to be normal and actually the suggested voltage for running 3200Mhz. Actually googled arround and this is what i found pretty much always as the answer.

Now something else and i dont know if thats normal, i m guessing it is not. When i have CPU-Z speccy and HWMonitor open, dragging the window arround is extremly laggy. Its lagging behind for like 4 seconds. Might be because these are measuring in real time but still…it seems weird to me.
              • I now switched back to slots 2 and 4 as suggested by the manual. the numbers have not changed at all but i did not play or test it otherwise yet

I m getting the feeling my GPU might be the problem. It is indeed quite a few years old. I do not have any other or any to borrow to test unless some magic app can do some testing?

I will play another quick game with something else open and see how it performs.
Also is there any application that i can run to give me a performance report while i make my test game?

p.s. almost forgot. I had TaskManager open while playing and when the game crashed the GPU basicly rocket jumped to 100%

Sorry but we can only address the issue that was mentioned in your OP, anything else is going off topic which would lead to the thread wandering all over the place, if you have any other computer issues you need to start a new thread on the appropriate forum.

All voltages are spot on now which confirms that the previous PSU was the cause of the previous behaviour.

                Question;

                When was this?

In your first Speccy report post on Nov 5th 2020 your RAM was shown to be running in dual channel at 3200MHz, this would not normally be possible if you had the RAM in the A1 and B1 slots as the MBs BIOS is configured to look to slot A2 for one stick of RAM or slots A2 and B2 for two sticks of RAM and when the BIOS does not find RAM populating the DIMM slot/s as it is supposed to the computer will either fail the power on self test (POST) or the RAM will only work in single channel at 50% of the performance that it is capable of.

No problem, i understand and that makes sense!
I put the RAM into the other slots for testing cause i was not sure, i did that right after i changed the PSU. Things did seem weird and unstable like the Computer switching off completly before restarting. Thats also when the game crashed. I do have them in the A2 and B2 slots now so no worries there.
Good news is, i had no lags or freezes yesterday while having other programs open, so thats looking good.

I think we can conclude this thread since that issue has been fixed.
I appreciate your time and help! Thank you very much!
