Went to 1903 after creating a restore point. The system is stable as long as no NVIDIA driver is installed. No matter which version I’m on the problem has been there. Install GPU driver, attempt to use any web browser or even open up a window in settings, and the PC crashes. Sometimes it’ll unfreeze, other times it won’t.

When I’ve unplugged the monitor and swapped display cables varying from different displayport cables and HDMI, the screen never shows anything until I reset the PC. I’m at a loss as to what to do. My Temps have been normal when I could access Speccy. All fans are running (regarding GPU, PSU, and liquid cooled CPU) and nothing is making any unusual noise, if any noise at all.

As of right now I am sitting on 1903 with absolutely nothing installed. I disabled all updates but I fear that when I install my WiFi drivers my system will add the NVIDIA drivers anyway.

Can I ask that once you have done any steps that have been suggested that you hold off doing anything further and just post back to update us, we will end up having to start from scratch again if you happen to do something that goes wrong.

Download and run DriverView which you can get from here

Save the results to text and attach to your next reply for us if you will.

NB Can I just make sure that you are not swapping anything that is connected to the computer while it is connected to the wall socket, other than certain devices that are hot swappable as are some USB external HDDs nothing should be connected or disconnected to a computer while there is power present, the smallest amount of charge can hose the whole hardware set up.

Just noticed that your motherboard details are not included in the parts list in your OP, can`t check the drivers out until we know what should be installed for the board, can you post the rand and model name or number of the MB for us.

Create a new system restore point then run DDU and uninstall all Nvidea drivers.

Create a new folder on the desktop, name it ASUS drivers.

Restart the computer in Safe Mode only (No Networking).

Install the chipset drivers that you saved to the folder on your desktop.

Restart the computer, test then post back with an update for us.

Trying to do so, currently attempting to fix an error message “Windows Installer Service could not be accessed” error message that the Chipset files are giving me.

See copy/paste info below;

Method 2. Confirm the Installer Service Is Running
To check whether the Installer Service is running, you need the Msconfig tool. The steps below are performed on Windows 10 computer.

Step 1. Go to the Windows “Start” menu, search for “Run”, and click it.

Step 2. In the Open box, type msconfig, and then click “OK”.

Step 3. On the “Services” tab, click to select the checkbox that is next to “Windows Installer”.

Step 4. Click “OK” > “Apply”, and then click “Restart” to restart the computer.

Got it. The Chipset drivers are installed. I’ll attach a second version of my DriverView results.

I did exactly as instructed and when I attempt to use the “AsusSetup” application included in the Chipset zip file, the program wants to know if I want to repair or uninstall it, so that tells me it was installed correctly right?

Is the computer running stable atm.

I didn’t see it, my apologies. Didn’t refresh the page before posting my response. The computer is running fine, always was as long as no GPU drivers are installed. There was some lag in Safe mode, though. Attempting to use the start menu would result in delays in it showing up, and the area of the Desktop where the start menu would appear would be unclickable once it was gone. Not sure if that means anything, just stating my observation.
