Hello jigsawsavvas,
Do you get any on screen message at all, No Signal for example.
Do you have a link to the type of adaptor that you have purchased.
Have you checked that it is not a setting on the monitor as in you have to select the type of port where the monitor looks for a signal. -
Thanks for the reply phillpower2, here is the link: https://www.plaisio.gr/pc-perifereia...o-hdmi_2352966 (its a greek store)..as for a screen message a get no signal at all..when i try to select input it shows me that hdmi cable is connected to monitor but when i choose it, it says no signalComment

Thanks for the link, reason why it was asked for was to make sure that it was not a HDMI to Display Port adaptor, seen this done in the past.
My questions one and two are addressed below;

Have you made sure that Windows is set to work on a second display.Comment

Or the adaptor!
Download then run Speccy (free) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.
To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:
In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.
In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.
Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.
Edit to add: Not sure what you mean by the below as I have never come across such a setting in the BIOS, a second screen is post BIOS and therefore taken care of by Windows and/or the add on GPU software;
as i said i enabled it also from bios..Comment
