pc randomly turns off during gaming sessions

hello my computer has had a problem recently that whenever i play a game about ten minutes in my computer will randomly power off. it does not do this with the random bits of surfing the web. upon research ive heard this was an issue with the power supply perhaps a cable is loose or it needs to be replaced entirely. can any of you think of another reason as to why this is happening or perhaps link me to helpful videos to learn about how to check your cables and also perhaps how to test your power supply. im really new to this stuff. anything will be helpful

      Hi Joseph,

Does it say anything when it shuts off, BSOD, Windows Warnings, etc? Have you overclocked any of your parts?

If not, I’d recommend trying MSI Afterburner or some other temperature monitoring program and then loading up a game to check for something overheating, your computer will usually shut itself off to prevent damage if that’s the case.

      Best regards

Interesting, is your rig custom built or prebuilt?

Is it still under warranty? You may be able to have it sent in if you take the added ram out, then any problems will be diagnosed, and fixed free of charge to you. (Unless it’s not that is)

Alright, I’d try doing what I said to above, thermal monitoring program, see your temps, etc. That’s the only thing I can think of off the top of my head.

Let me know how it goes.
