PC randomly freezes and sound loops any help, please?

Hi guys. I need some advice on an issue I have been having recently.

    My pc specs:
    Windows 10 Pro 64-bit

    CPU: RYZEN 5 1600
PSU: Antec 500W VP500PC bronze plus
    RAM:G.Skill F4-3200C16D-16GTZB TridentZ 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4-3200MHz CL16 1.35V
    GPU: RX-590P8DFD6 8GB GDDR5 256-bit

    MOBO: MSI B350M GAMING PRO

So I recently updated my BIOS to the beta version (I ended up switching to the stable version). I then installed AMD Ryzen master and overclocked my CPU using the app to 3600. I was following a guide.

I stress tested my CPU and everything seemed to be in order. I then tried messing with the memory control options and moved my memory slider to 1,600 MHz (I don’t remember the exact number) It asked me to restart. After the restart, my pc started freaking out and crashing when I got into my desktop. I managed to turn off the Memory control via an old system restore point.

Every now and then my pc will just freeze up and the sound starts looping. I need to hard reset it a few times before it runs again till the next freeze. It happens randomly. I can be idling on my desktop, watching a video or playing games, it happens regardless.

I have been dealing with a few power outages recently in my area if that has any effect?

I also had Memory Dumps, Windows Log files, Windows error Reports, DNS Cache, and Chkdsk File Fragments turned on in my CCleaner options under custom clean.

My question is did I somehow break my Ram or PSU by messing with the ram MHz? Or did I break something on my MOBO? Will I need a new PSU, Ram, or MOBO? Any info would be of great help. Thank you very much!

There were one or two surges while my pc was in load. This was a few months ago. I did not notice anything out of the orinary after they append. Unless it takes a while for it to actually affect the pc?

Sometimes it does.. If i were you ,you need to do a visible inspection of you mobo.. Look for burn marks and leaking capacitors or bulged caps.. Also check your psu as best as you can..

          Hi,

I would reset your BIOS settings back to default values and remove all overclocking on the system and see if the crashes stop happening.

I’ll inspect the Mobo for any burns thank you. I reset the Bios and cleaned the cmos. It hasn’t crashed thus far. Thank you very much for your help! Much appreciated!

Sure thing. Keep us posted with how the system performs.

After running for about a day with without any issues. I got three blue screens. I don’t quite remember the exact errors. One of them said "a critical proses has died. The other something about “thread something”. When I try doing auto repair. I get the error code recovery\windowsRE\winre.wim\system 32\logfiles\srt\srrTrail.txt. I then tried to reinstall windows. When I tried to reinstall windows via boot drive I get an error saying I can’t install windows in the location I chose. Please check your media drive. Code 0x80300024. I then unpluggedall my drives and kept the os drive in. Formated the drive and installed windows. Everything was fine. I ran it for about 10 min. Turned it off and plugged the other drives in. Crashed on login. I then unplugged everything but the os drive and managed tp log in, got into the desktop and got greeted with a black screen. Now it just keeps on booting into desktop and black screen

Having a 500 watt power supply might be the issue here. The PSU may not be able to supply enough power to your system. I would install this power supply and see how the system performs, CORSAIR RMx Series RM650x 2018 CP-9020178-NA 650W ATX12V / EPS12V 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Power Supply.
