My PC won't wake up after upgrading RAM

I recently bought identical 2x4 GB Kingston 2666Mhz RAM. So together I have a 4x4 GB Ram. After installation, I have a problem with waking the computer from sleep mode. When I wake the computer, the fans and disk start up, but the monitor and keyboard do not respond / light. I have to solve everything with a hard restart.
I have correctly detected 16GB on my computer.
I’ve tried everything, resetting the CMOS, turning hibernation on and off and nothing works.

    cpu: Intel i5-9400F
    gpu: Geforce GTX1070ti 8GB
    mb: ROG Strix b360-g
    bios version: 1901

Looking at the web site for your motherboard here

It does not list compatibility with 4 x 4gb 2666mhz Kingston ram sticks. It would pay to check you haven’t got unsuitable ram first. Even some of the slower kingston ram is not shown as compatible when 4 sticks are used?

And why not remove the extra ram you just fitted and see if your PC is back to normal, or a coincidence that this new issue has arisen?

Thank you for reply, that will be the key.. I should have checked this before.. I have HX426C13SB2K2/8. Whats the best solution? New kit of 4x4GB Ram or motherboard with supporting 2x4GB module?

Yea, my PC without “new ram” wakes up perfectly.

Just check that the ram you get is compatible, probably better to get ram that suits motherboard than to scrap it, still a nice board.

If you want 16Gb of ram why not buy a kit of 2 x 8gb and sell the ram you have.
