SSD detected in BIOS but not in windows disk manager

I recently got an SSD (Samsung EVO 860) and am trying to install it but for some reason it shows up in my BIOS but not in diskmanagement. So I cannot format and use it.

The SSD shows up in device manager:

But not in disk management or when listing all disks in the command prompt (it just shows my old 500gb HDD):

I have tried every SATA port and two different cables but evertime the result is the same. It also shows up in a rapid storage program from intel:

The mode is AHCI. I also tried getting the latest drivers but windows says it already has them. Uninstalling the IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers and restarting also didn’t work.

What can I do? The rapid storage program says the state is normal and finds no issues with the SSD. It is brand new so I doubt it is broken.

If it might be relevant, my motherboard is: Asus z170 Pro Gaming

    Welcome to PCHF twan2020,

What options do you get if you right click on the SSD in Device Manager.

Have you run the Samsung Magician software to see if that picks up the device.
