No HDMI audio out of RX 580 with Ryzen 5 2400g

Got another live one for you gents! Not getting HDMI Audio on 2400g with RX 580

    Motherboard: MSI B350 PC Mate
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 3000 MHz 8GB (One stick - cause I’m low on RAM lol)
Processor: Ryzen 5 2400g (Onboard Graphics)
    Graphics: Gigabyte RX 580 8GB
PSU: Rosewill Hive 750 Watt 80+ Bronze
Boot Drive: Crucial BX 500 240 GB SSD
Hard Drive: 1TB Western Digital Black

    Speccy: http://speccy.piriform.com/results/q...0G0SBkCBlmxJ25

    Story Time:
Picked up this unit with the 2400g installed on the B350 chipset without a BIOS update.
Installed a 1400 and a basic GPU to update BIOS. Sound Works.
Installed 2400g with no GPU. Sound works.
    Installed Radeon Drivers (Adrenalin 2020).
Installed RX 580 and reinstalled drivers. No Audio - says nothing is connected.
Disabled Onboard graphics in BIOS. No Audio
Installed RX 580 in another unit (X470 chipset and 2600x). Audio Works.
Reinstalled RX 580 in unit in question.
Did another UEFI install of Windows 10 crossing my fingers and reinstalled Radeon Drivers. No Audio.
Any suggestions before I install the 1400 back in the motherboard to see what happens there?

    Thanks in advance!

          Hi,

Did you set the HDMI audio out as the default audio device in the Sound Control Panel?

What does the HDMI audio output show when you plug in an HDMI cable into the video card? Have you tried different HDMI ports?

your testing would indicate the issue lies with the RX580.
and therefore most likely a driver issue.

on this front you have 3 vendor choices; Gigabyte, Windows or AMD.
yes, some say Windows drivers via the Update process should be avoided - but when you’re clutching straws, no idea is too dumb.

so you have installed a driver from where?
whatever is was, uninstall it (it’s not working anyway) and try getting them from the other two sources.
also, after you have exhausted all the current version, don’t be shy to go back a version or two and see if they help.
I had a Nvidia card update years ago that caused issues, went back to a previous version, all good and just waited until they release another version.

Hello guys, I ended up installing an EVGA GTX 1060 6GB (Nvidia instead of AMD) in the rig in question and viola! I have sound. I switched the RX580 into another build with an Intel processor and it’s working great there. Leads me to believe that it was an AMD driver issue relating to the 2400g onboad graphics processor since that’s the only thing that changed going into the other rig.

In reference to your guys responses however, the audio control panel only showed the front and rear speaker ports. It never showed HDMI audio anywhere. Although my issue is solved, it doesn’t actually provide you guys with a fix… sorry… I need to get this rig posted for sale. Trying to capitalize on these stimulus checks people are getting lol. I really appreciate you guys!
