PC reboots while playing certain games.

I recently built my first PC, and I ran into a problem. When I play games like League of Legends, my PC works fine. However, when I play other games like Sea of Theives and Beat Saber, my PC reboots. The strange thing about it is that I play a game called A Dance of Fire of Ice, which even a lemon can run, and that also reboots my pc. I do not get a BSOD, it shuts down as if I turned the PC off and on again. I’ve also ran Time Spy, with no reboot. All of my drivers and bios are up to date, I’m on the latest version of Windows 10, and my temps are reasonable, around 60-70C. Full load CPU temp is around 80-85. I’ve searched my problem online, and I think the problem might be AMD drivers. MSI BIOS ver. 7C02v35

Specs: Ryzen 3600 RX 5700 XT Red Devil MSI B450 Tomahawk MAX OLOy x2 DDR4 16gb 3200 Corsair CX750M(the white version)

    Hi,

This sounds like a power supply issue.

What is the make and model of the power supply that the computer has?

      Corsair CX750M (white version)
CX Series Modular power supply units are an excellent choice for basic system builds and desktop PC computer upgrades, offering high reliability, low noise, and the flexibility of modular cabling.

Do you have another power supply that you can use to swap the Corsair Power Supply in order to test with?

I have a 400w power supply from my last pc, but I don’t know if that’s enough power.

That is not going to be enough unfortunately. See if you can borrow another 650 watt power power supply from a friend or consider buying a replacement power supply for the short term and see if that solves the issue. We need to rule out the power supply as causing the improper shutdowns on the system.

An alternative would be to get your GPU tested on a system that has an appropriate spec of PSU, ideally it should be a 750W Gold efficiency rated PSU from a proven brand such as Corsair, EVGA or Seasonic.

The present PSU is not appropriate for a system that has anything more than the most basic of add on GPU, Corsair do in fact state at the link that you post for Evan “CX Series Modular power supply units are an excellent choice for basic system builds” an example of what to go for EVGA SuperNOVA 750 GA, 80 Plus Gold 750W, Fully Modular, ECO Mode with Dbb Fan, 10 Year Warranty,

Please PM a member of staff should you need come back here after swapping in an appropriate PSU, we cannot leave threads open indefinitely or keep asking for updates and for the following reason/s, forum procedure is to ask for an update when a thread remains unanswered for three days, if still no answer after a further two days a second update request is post along with notice that the thread will be closed if not replied to within 48hrs, we have to have such a procedure to keep the forums in order as some folk will start threads on five or six forums and then abandon all but one of them.

UPDATE: Got a new psu, and it worked! I can now play games without any reboot. I still have no idea how my pc with the old power supply can survive stress tests, but will reboot on certain games.
