    Hardware of software issue?

I built my desktop about 6 years ago. I chose parts compatibility using pc parts picker list.
The computer is still powerful enough to run various modern programs and even play high end games.

My issue is hard to describe , but what is happening after about 1 year of use the computer is hard to turn on. It starts off as I have to switch it on/off 2-3 times and than it boots up. The next day I will need to turn/off it maybe 5-8 times for it to boot on. Next day even more, and so on. Eventually after 2 weeks it can take a few hours of pressing power button for computer to load windows.
SO when this happens - computer still powers on, but OS is not loading and monitor is not on and keyboard is not active; but computer will make noises and fans work.

It did it to me 4-5 times now in the past 6 years. Every time I fixed this issue by updating BIOS. Once I update BIOS, restart computer and I can turn it on/off again with no issue for roughly another year. Anyone know what could be my issue here? Is it a motherboard problem? Is there permanent fix? Also I already updated Power source to more powerful one, but still same issue.

So we may get you some expert help…

Please go HERE and download the portable version of Speccy. Save it to somewhere you can find, locate the file and as it comes as a Zip file use your favorite unzip application to decompress it. Open the newly created folder and double left click Speccy.exe if you have a 32 bit system or Speccy64.exe if yours is 64bit. If you are not sure what your system is click HERE. This guide compiled by Gus.

Speccy will open and after a short wait will display a summary of your system specs.
    [ol]
[li]Click on the file menu.[/li][li]Then click Publish snapshot.[/li][/ol]

A dialogue box will ask you to confirm, select yes.

    Another dialogue box will open
    [ol]
    [li]Click Copy to Clipboard.[/li][li]Then click Close.[/li][/ol]

Now that your link has been copied please paste it into your next post. It should look something like the example below

BTW: once you have finished with speccy and no longer want it removing it is easy because it is a portable app with no install. Simply delete the downloaded file and folder you created when you decompressed it. Gone:thumbsup:
