RAM upgrade issues

Hi guys,
I got the following problem…
2 years ago I upgraded the RAM (kingston hyper x ddr3 1600 MHz) in my PC (win7 ultimate 32bit) from 1x2 Gb to 2x4 Gb, in the BIOS the total memory was 8 Gb however I could use only 4 Gb due to 32-bit system. After a few days I reinstalled windows (win7 ultimate 32bit) and I remember windows install stopped at the “starting windows” screen. So I removed the new set of 2x4 Gb RAM and put the old 1x2 Gb RAM back, win install went fine, and then swapped the old RAM to the new 2x4 Gb RAM and I had a fully working 32 bit system with 4 Gb of RAM.
Today I reinstalled the windows 7 ultimate 64 bit version, same installation (I had to put back the old RAM in order to finish the install) and after the install finished, I changed the RAM from 1x2 Gb to 2x4 Gb. BIOS sees all 8 Gb of RAM, but windows does not load…screen freezes at “starting windows” screen. (with the 2Gb RAM it loads). But I need all 8…

Motherboard: Gigabyte H55M-S2H
CPU: intel core i3 530
VGA: nvidia geforce 9400 gt
RAM: old: kingston hyper x ddr3 1600 MHz 1x2 Gb
new: kingston hyper x ddr3 1600 MHz 2x4 Gb

Only thing that I am seeing that looks off is that Speccy says that the MB has four memory slots when the board only has the two.

Memory slot
Total memory slots: 4
Used memory slots: 1
Free memory slots: 3

Is your Windows media on DVD or a USB thumb drive.

yes this motherboard has only 2 memory slots, both working, I tried to put this 2 Gb modul into the other one, and works fine as well.
I installed this windows from DVD, and I have done it a few times already from this DVD, however it was the first time i chose 64 bit…

Is it a genuine Microsoft Windows DVD that you have or is it a downloaded and burned to DVD ISO from Microsoft, it doesn’t really matter as long as you know that the media is good.

What I would do if me in this situation, set the BIOS to boot from the DVD, place the Windows media in the DVD drive then shut down the computer, insert the two 4GB sticks of RAM in the MB, restart the computer and clean install Windows 7 64 - bit.

its an old version, downloaded from torrent and burnt it to DVD. I can download a new one from torrent and make a bootable usb, but i think it’s good.
is it possible that some BIOS settings are not correct? any way you could look into my BIOS settings??? Just remembered that I followed a step by step instructions and there was a part saying that I have to change something in the BIOS, something about changing IDE mode to AHCI mode, but with that settings windows didnt boot, so i had to leave it on IDE mode…

You need to get yourself a legitimate Windows ISO before anything else, see info here

no luck… in the past 4 days I installed 3 different windows 7/10 pro, ultimate, enterprise, both 32 and 64 bit versions, looks like 64 bit doesn’t accept the RAM upgrade
I put back the original setup: win7 32bit with 2x4gb RAM (3,5 usable) and not bother myself anymore
it’s my mum’s pc anyway, so it still good for playing mahjong
