Between Nvidia Quadro P600 4GB GDDR5 VRAM and GeForce RTX 2070 for 3D Design and Rendering

    Dear Forum Members,

My name is Ebuka or Francis. I am new here. I am looking at getting a new laptop for 3D architectural designs (which I do currently); and I equally want to learn animation and video editing.

Now I have two options of graphic cards from two different models of HP. One of them is Nvidia Quadro P600/4GB GDDR5 VRAM and the other is Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070/8GB.

Both PCs have 32GB RAM. Which of them do you advice I should buy for work mostly and occasional gaming (maybe once in a month gaming; however, game playing is not important to me).

    Thank you.

Hello, the better of the 2 graphics options is Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070/8GB.

Thanks a lot for your reply. If I may ask, does it mean that all the buzz about Quadro cards being better for 3D works is only applicable when both graphic cards are at par (say both have same ram size)?

It just means that the two video processing cards are poles apart and the rtx 2o70 is a better card of the two, 3D or not.

Something amiss with the specs there as the Quadro P600 only has 2GB of VRAM, the P6000 has 24GB of VRAM but at $3539 minimum I can`t see HP using one in any of their notebooks, benchmarks here

Thanks for the reply. From your comment and the little search I’ve done so far, it simply means that the seller on Amazon is fraudulent.

Not necessarily Francizy, HP may have had a special edition made strictly for them or more likely it is that it could be a mistake in the spec and the GPU could be either a P1000 or P2000, both have 4GB of VRAM and if you check the P1000 benchmark info here you will see that the performance matches that of the P600 but is more recent,

As an asides, it was more the performance comparison between the RTX 2070 and the Quadro P600, the performance of the RTX 2070 memory clock is streets ahead of the Quadro so it looked odd to be comparing the two.
