My 1 TB USB Drive has Errors on it & using the default Windows Error check would take hours on end to fix. Is there a quicker & faster way to fix this w/out waiting so long?

there’s only one way to check the sectors on a drive for errors - and that’s to check each sector on the drive.
depending on the switches you pass chkdsk, you could just do a quick scan, but it won’t find any errors with the drive until the time that spot on the drive gets written to - then it’s too late.
with the cost of drives being so cheap, with 1TB units selling for $55 why would you even bother re-using a storage medium you can no longer trust.Comment

I changed my USB type to NTFS to see if that will clear the issue. So far I haven’t had an error >>yet<<. I’ll leave my bigger files for last in case I run into the error w/ my lighter files.
PS: Please leave this open till I buy my new TB Drive or until my current one is error free.Comment
