How can i combine these 2 unallocated partitions?

Hello all,

I recently purchased a 2tb WD Blue Hard Drive and when i opened my file explorer, i saw that it was only around 1tb. I went to look at the partitions and i saw that the other tb was unallocated. I messed around with it, trying to get them together, and i somehow ended up with 2 unallocated spaces(both around 930 GB each.) They are also not adjacent. They are split by a 450 Mb Healthy(Recovery Partition). I have tried formatting and extending and i keep running into errors like "There is not enough space available on the disk(s) to complete this operation." I tried doing my own research and was told that because they are separated, i needed a 3rd party software. I tried 2 different software’s and only my SSD shows up. My hard drive is there, but it dosent show any of the partitions because it says it is a Dynamic Disc. I don’t know what that means, but one told me to restart my computer(which did nothing), and the other told me i needed to get the paid version. If anyone could help my i would really appreciate it.

Where did you purchase the Drive from?

It was used and some one returned it from the looks of it. New Drives would not be partitioned. Personally I would return it and get a new since there is no telling if there is any damage to any of the sectors.

The other oprion is to delete the partition and then if you want to partition it you can or just use the whole Drive.

I got it from Best Buy, and as far as I know, it was brand new. I would like to avoid returning if possible. What partition were you talking about deleting, because I’m pretty sure it didn’t allow me to delete anything. If you could be more specific that would be great. Thanks

And how do I delete them, because when I right click on them, it just says help? No option to delete.

Using DiskPart

Do NOT do if you are NOT sure on any of the steps.

[li]Open Start.[/li][li]Search for Command Prompt, right-click the top result, and select the Run as administrator option.[/li][li]Type the following command to launch DiskPart and press Enter:[/li]diskpart
[li]Type the following command to list all the drives connected to your computer and press Enter:[/li]list disk
[li]Type the following command to select the drive that you want to clean and press Enter:[/li]select disk 1
[COLOR=rgb(251, 160, 38)]In the command, make sure to replace 1 for the drive number that you want to delete. If you do not do this step correctly, you could end up wiping out the wrong drive, as such proceed with caution.

After that is done then you should be able to partition and format the drive sing Disk Manager.
