I’m thinking of purchasing a graphics card, I have two options. A GeForce GTX 1050 Ti Gaming x 4G, or a AMD Radeon RX 550 4GB GDDR5. This is for a budget video editing rig, they both prices are the same so I’m not sure which to get, or which is better, or are they the same.
Which Graphics Card is Better?

Update. I’ve decided to go with a AMD Ryzen 7 2700 CPU instead of a Ryzen 5, so since I’m not going to use this rig for gaming, and I heard that a graphics card won’t necesarily help with video processing (I guess with video processing/editing the CPU is more important?) do I even need a graphics card? Or will the processor be good enough, along with the 16gb of DDR4 3000MHz RAM. I’m editing mostly 1080p video at 60fpsComment

your bottleneck is always Input/Output (I/O) - where ever that may be; RAM, storage, CPU, GPU.
improving the bus speeds on any (and all) of those will help with video processing, which basically is all gaming is.
I’d be getting as good as my budget allows, each of those components, plus throw in a SSD.Comment

Yeah I’m planning on a 256gb m.2 for OS, and either a 1 or 2 tb SSD for storage. I’m really on the fence though about whether I should get a graphics card. Maybe I’ll hold off on that and see how it does with just a good CPU. This is a bit of a long term project, I’m just buying a few parts every week, and try to keep it under $1000.00Comment

Does your system meed the Spec shown here?
That card requires a 500 Watt not including what the other hardware requires.
What is the make and model of the Power Supply unit that you want to use and does it have the proper connections and enough power (wattage)? @phillpower2Comment

Full specs:
Rosewill Gaming 80+ Gold 550W PSU
MSI B450M Pro-M2 MOBO
CPU AMD Ryzen 5 2600X
RAM Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (8GBx2) DDR4-3000
Case Phanteks Eclipse Steel ATX Mid Tower (with fancy rgb lighting, lol)
OS SSD Intel SSD 660p Series 512GB M.2
Storage Samsung 860 QVO 1TB SSD
Hopefully all of that will work together with that Graphics card, any thoughts?Comment

Yeah there is the option to get a warranty on it for a year for $20. I think I’m going to pull the trigger and get it.Comment
