    Compatible GPU

    Hello,

Recently I got caught up with gaming and would like to upgrade my pc. I’ve had several looks on the inside and saw there was no GPU whatsoever. After quite some time of digging, I decided which one I wanted to get: AMD Radeon RX 580 (8gb). I heard it’s quite a combo with an Intel i7-6700.
As I am not an expert in pcs, I was wondering if it indeed is a good graphics card and if it will work properly.

Also, I’ve had a look at my motherboard and saw there was a narrow space right underneath the GPU. I’d like to know if any graphics card will fit.

    Thank you in advance.

    Hello

I couldn’t find any exact measurements on the card.. That standoff beside the gpu slot looks to be a bit over sized. Hopefully more of our members will chime in soon..

The rx-580 is a reasonable card, just make sure your PSU is up to the requirements for the card.

The card should fit the PCI-e slot shown in your picture but the limiting factor may be your case, that is make sure that the card LENGTH does not foul any other hardware in the pc case.

          Hi applebottom, Welcome to PCHF!

I agree that the AMD Radeon RX 580 8 GB will be the video card to buy. However we need to know what power supply your computer has. What is the model and wattage of your current power supply?
