Pc randomly goes black screen and reboots

My pc randomly goes black and restarts and sometimes when I try and turn it back on there’s no display or anything but the fans and you are working

first thing to rule out is over-heating.
open the case, blow out all dust build-up, remove your memory sticks and graphics card (if 3rd party add-on) and clean them with a brush and wipe their contacts on the chips and slot on the motherboard, then reseat those components.

worth doing to the CPU and its heatsink too. and while that’s off, re-apply new thermal paste.

put it all back together and reboot.

is there any rhyme or reason to the restarts? - program currently running, task being done, length of boot time???
