    Pc will not start

Hi I managed to break my desktop by being dumb and plugging an aux chord from an amplifier into the pink or green 3.5mm Jack’s on the back which caused my PC to freeze and keep playing the same sound it was playing at the time. Holding the power button would not turn it off so I had to cut the power by turning it off at the wall. Then when trying to turn it back on it would gain just enough power to turn the fans and some components on but would then turn off and try to turn itself on again, this process would repeat. I have since left the PC alone for a while and now when I go to turn it on, the green light on the GPU will turn on, and if I have a mouse plugged in the red light on the mouse rapidly flashes but still, the PC does not gain enough power to boot. There is no output to the screen. It is a rather expensive PC that I put together with the help of a friend and they will be helping me fix it. Here are the components:
    • Intel i5 7600k 3.8 ghz
    • corsair h60-se liquid CPU cooler
    • msi z270 motherboard
    • Kingston HyperX fury 8 GB ram (4Gx
    • samsung 850 EVO 250gb SATAII SSD
    • corsair cx650m 650 watt PSU
    • ge force 760x gpu
    • samsung 2tb hard drive(unsure of model but was brand new)

Please help me isolate the problem and replace the faulty part(s), thankyou.

    Hello Black pepper,

It is possible that the MB and worse case scenario other components have been damaged by a short circuit

I would suggest that you start by removing the add on video card from the MB and try using one of the MBs video ports, while inside the case, reseat the RAM, check the MB for bad caps and make sure that all internal connections are secure.

Problem has been solved! Mobo has ez debug led which showed me it was a ram issue so removing and swapping the rams around made it work again
