I can't install my PCE card into my motherboard

I just bought a PCE card for my motherboard and I can’t get it into the PCE hole. I unscrewed the side metal thing but the card just seems to be a few millimeters off every time I try. I can’t find any details online either.

    I bought an Asus PCE-AC56

    Hello

Some pic’s of the mobo and vid card and the vid card sitting in the pci.e slot would be helpful..

Are you sure you are trying to plug that network card into a PCI-EXPRESS slot, or some other type of slot?

      That card you mention

can only fit a pci-e slot, either PCI-E x16 or x1 as per below

Yeah I have those slots in my pc, but when I try to slide to metal part into the case, my card just always ends up being a few millimeters to the right. I didn’t know that I could put it in the 16x one. I’ll try it when I get home. Thx. Btw I couldn’t attach any pictures because it said the file was too big.

Ok, so I figured out how to insert the photos . So I have the card alligned to the screw on the outside of the case part. And in the other picture you see the part that’s goes into the slot is a bit too much to the right.

I see that..well it looks like the slot ports are off with the case and or that card is off with the standard alignment .. One way you could make it fit better i to push the tab on the cast slot down and out of the way, then maybe the card will line up..

And is there anything I can do about it? Or should I return the card?

Did you remove the case card blanking off plates first?

Do you have any other add-in cards in the pc?
