PC runs fine but major frame drops in games

My PC is relatively new (bought just before christmas) and it was running completely fine in games and everything a couple days ago but since then its been getting massive frame drops even down to 11fps when i usually get a steady 120fps is my psu maybe failing?

Are you running Win 10..? There may be a Win 10 update that is causing issues…

yeah im running windows 10

manually check for updates in Settings to eliminate that possibility.
has anything changed (hardware, software) between now and when it was working fine?

Have you updated your video card drivers to the latest version?

Also try performing a clean boot in Windows and see if that helps.

Have you set the power plan to high performance?

Is this a pre-built computer or a custom built system?

i checked for updates and there are a couple ill try doing them and playing it again
