My New Build won’t let me use my new hdd for boot up

I recently built a new PC and after a couple hours building it as I’m new to this I made sure everything was right and I was and still as I’ve about quadruple checked and everything connected where it should be. I turn it on and when I starts it tells me “reboot and please select proper boot device” I’m pretty confused but I don’t think much of it I just change where the SATA cable is plugged into my motherboard but it doesn’t work and after checking and changing the positioning of the cable I decided to check the boot menu and to my surprise it the thing even tells to select a boot drive and it recommends my hdd I press yes thinking it’s fixed but turns out as it restarts to doesn’t work that way as it basically forgot and told me again “reboot and please select proper boot device” I do this a couple more times and then I decide to use my old hdd which is very slow and isn’t one of the reasons I built a new PC and when I used that as a boot up the damned thing worked but I don’t wanna use it because as I said, IT’S SUPER SLOW and I’ve been confused until now what to do so if anyone can recommend something I’m open to anything at this point and I am planning on calling gigabyte, the manufacturer of the motherboard on Saturday as the customer service people close at 5:30 and I’m gonna be busy from 8am -7pm for the next two days I’m asking here to see if I can get a solution now instead of two days later as I’ve been waiting for so long to use this PC and I’m really ****** it doesn’t want to read my hdd

Please give us your complete pc spec’s. Have you checked your boot order in your bio’s?

Your old HDD has Windows on it whereas an out of the box new storage device will not, hence the reason why you are being asked for a boot device when the blank drive is fitted.

As requested by vger please post the brand and model name or number of all of you hardware and let us know if you have a Windows installation disk or Windows on a USB thumbdrive.

I have a ryzen 2600, a gigabyte b450m ds3h, 16gb Corsair vengeance LPX vengeance ram, a 550 watt Evga power supply, and a GTX 750ti as a place holder for now
