I bought a new motherboard

About 2 weeks ago, I was on here and I was told all my signs of crashing where leading to a faulty motherboard. When using one of the DIMM slots the ram checklist light would come on, and when using a different slot it wouldn’t. I ran a basic windows ram check and it said everything was good. I bought a new motherboard, and it ran for 5 mins then crashed again. I shut it off, and turned it back on and the ram light is back on in all slots. What do I do? (Edit) when I tried to turn the computer on after it crashed, it would turn on for a few seconds, make a ting noise, then turn off, then do it again and again. I shut the power supply off and it stopped(another edit) I believe all the signs point to faulty ram or a faulty psu, however I want to make sure. My psu is 450 watt, and I have an rx 580, 8gb single channel ddr4, r5 2600x, MSI b450a pro, two case fans. Some have said my psu wattage is too low, however loads of sites have told me that my system only draws 390 watts

I’ve used that site before. I just used it and it says my reccomended psu wattage is 440. What I want to know is when the motherboard checklist light comes on for my ram, does it mean I need to get new ram?

According to the motherboard information you should be running Dual Channel. So yes you should need to replace the RAM with proper ones.

Are you sure that’s what it means? I just don’t wanna buy new ram and it still fail. Btw when the computer was first booting up, it said that I should move my ram to optimized slots, and I was confused because I was running single channel. I googled some stuff and everything says that dual channel means the motherboard is optimized to run 2 memory sticks.

I know what dual channel is. I know that dual channel increases performance. But the motherboard having dual channel shouldn’t mean that I can only run dual channel on that board.

Nope. I’m going to buy new ram soon. I got my ram from patriot, and I’ve been seeing multiple reports that some patriot dimms come dead/broken on arrival. I’ve also seen builds using the b450a pro with single channel. I don’t think needing dual channel is my problem
