    Gaming PC Disaster!

OK so, my PC isn’t even a year old but today it decided to have a total meltdown. The monitor won’t display anything at all. The PSU is fine, the fans start spinning and the lights come on but the motherboard doesn’t beep like it usually does and nothing happens. I’ve tried everything I can think of, please help.

I posted this in DIY also as I didn’t know where to put it.

    Hi Wilf.fletch, Welcome to PCHF!

Can you start by giving us the specs of your system? Does your motherboard have an integrated video chip available? Is this a custom built computer or a Dell, HP, Asus system etc.?

Do any of the lights on the case or motherboard light up? Have you tried installing just one stick of RAM and seeing if that helps? Also see if you can clear your motherboards BIOS settings using the motherboard jumper and see if that allows the computer to boot up.

and when you say you have tried everything, can you list what you have done, otherwise you’ll be getting suggestions you may have already attempted.

for example, a common reason for PC’s to suddenly give no POST beep is a badly connected memory or graphics card and a removal of said part, wipe contacts and slot and reseat can fix it. and when i say badly connected, it’s just the mobo isn’t seeing them due to dust or oxidisation.
