PC not running smooth in Pubg

    Hi There,

When I playing Pubg, I can’t get anywhere near 144fps. I’ve tried playing with the settings but nothing works. I thought my set-up would be able to run the game no problems. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.

    Specs:
System Model Z370 AORUS ULTRA GAMING 2.0
    Processor Intel(R) Core™ i7-8700K CPU @ 3.70GHz, 3696 Mhz, 6 Core(s), 12 Logical Processor(s)
    NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080
    Samsung SSD 860 EVO 1TB
Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 16.0 GB

My monitor is an Agon AG271QG

    Thanks,
    Chris

    Hi Chris, Welcome to PCHF!

How many FPS are you getting currently playing Pubg? Do other games play well? Are you overclocking any components? Have you opened up Task Manager when the game is running to see if any other processes are using up a high amount of RAM or CPU usage?

      Hi Evan,

Thanks for the reply! I’m currently getting like 70-90 FPS, it varies between that in game. The settings aren’t maxed out either.

I haven’t clocked anything yet, but my cpu runs at around 45-55 degrees Celsius. I’ll definitely check task manager to see if there’s something running in the background.

I just thought this setup would be running 144fps quite easily, or am I mistaken?

      Thanks again,
      Chris.

You should be getting higher FPS considering the hardware your computer has.

Try performing a Clean boot in Windows and see if there is any improvement.

Okay thanks a lot man. Appreciate the help. I’ll let you know how it goes. Maybe I’ve messed with a few settings that’s causing all of this?

I wouldn’t know what programs your system is running unless we dive deeper into what software you have installed. Just keep me posted and let me know how the computer runs after performing a clean boot.
