Some problems with intel core 2 duo e7400

Ok, so i’ve got some problems with my intel core 2 duo e7400, it usually goes by the speed of 2.8 ghz, but mine is stuck at 1.6 ghz it wont go any lower or higher, i don’t know why, and it influences significantly the speed of my pc. (yes i know about the thechnology to save power , but in my case it is not the case, because mine is stuck, and it wont go any further no matter how hard i stress it, like playing gta 5) Even when i turn on the PC , in that white text from the begining it says “intel core 2 duo 1.6 ghz” instead of 2.8 ghz. My motherboard is gigabyte ga-945gm-s2. Any solutions ? (i also tried the intel core 2 duo e7300 2.66 ghz and it had the same problem , seems that my motherboard have something with the intel core 2 duo, because i tried another procesor "intel pentium dual core 2.4 ghz and it recognized at full speed , and it didn’t get stuck to a certain speed/frequency)

Download then run Speccy (free) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.

To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:

In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.

In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.

Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.

Hi Andysor3. Have you tried resetting your BIOS back to default values?

If you go to Control Panel< System and Security< Power Options, is the power plan set to high performance?

Thanks for the help, but seems like my motherboard doesn’t recognize that cpu, it only recognize 2-3 intel core 2 duos, the rest it only starts with them but it shows no cpu id and frequency.
