i can only hear the loud grinding noise when the case is closed so i cant pinpoint where its coming from

The noise in the previous post was that of a failing fan. Take the cover off with the pc running. Get a piece of tubing and hold one end to your ear and the other end close to each fan bearing (centre of fan). that will quickly identify it. the fan you think is the one making the noise should then be disconnected which if the noise then stops will verify your diagnosis.Comment

a pin of a power cable was hitting the case and when i moved it a bit the grinding noise stopped so idk how to identify which fan is failingComment

ok guys, grinding noise is back and i managed to find out that its coming from the gpu, i can only hear it when case is standing upright though
also when the i can hear this grinding noise from the gpu the fans are showing rpm
