PC Shuts off unexpectedly sometimes not a single software being used!

Hello all,
My PC CYBERPOWERPC AMD Windows 8.1 64 bits (more data on attached TXT files) has been shutting off unexpectedly sometimes not a single software being used! I recently replaced the thermal paste of both the graphics card and the mother board (cpu?) and it is still happening…I have attached 2 TXT Files taken of CPUID monitor results 1) when pc only had 15mins on with only CPUID running 2) When PC had 30mins on with FIREFOX CPUID & ADOBE PREMIERE running …please help me figure out what’s going on. I believe there is a small chance that when I put the thermal paste it leaked outside of the desired area, or also could be the thermal paste that I put has actually gone bad, but it could be something else, you the experts please help me figure this mess out! I have the power supply on 115, if I put it on 220

Do not do that.
That switch on the back tells the power supply how much power is being supplied by the wall. Putting it on the higher setting will cause you system to not boot.

Ok thanks for that but that is not the issue, I just realized that when PC turns on sometimes fans are super high strong and that is when PC is prompted to shut off even if I use no apps and just leave it on…looking at PCUID to my knowledge there is no overheat..(i posted PCUID reports here on first post message). Now, when PC turns on and fans are not loud it doesn’t shut off no matter how many apps I use…Anybody has a clue as to why this is happenig and how I can fix it? I believe I need a new power supply. Thanks much! (one more fact I plugged in the PC to a direct outlet instead of Multi-outlet where it was plugged in..I’ll see if that makes a difference.)[/color]

You don’t say exactly which video card you are using but it would appear your PSU is hopelessly underpowered. The minimum power requirement for that video card of unknown specific make/model could be around 500wats, and the PSU is 350 watts, and those would be questionable PSU watts anyway.

You did properly clean the old paste off prior to putting new on?
If it did leak on to the pins then you may be looking at replacing boards depending on how much leaked.
Since you did the paste you did make sure the the fan for the CPU was plugged into the proper place?
Do you have a built in display try removing the Video Card and connect to there to see if the same thing happens.
Is the computer over clocked?
What changes did you make to the computer prior to this happening? (software/hardware)

Hi Yes… Update is the following: PC kept shutting off, I went on the Bios and turned on “OC Genie Lite” (because supposedly was gonna help with power management)…restarted the computer…went to living room something burned and sounded snapping (did not get to see what it was). I assumed it was the power supply (low on wattage as a member suggested) and bought a PS 600Watts (continuous rated not peak only) with awesome reviews the EVGA 600w. After plugging it in turned on the PC …something snapped once..PC was on I restarted from windows accessed the Bios turned off “OC Genie Lite”, and as I was checking settings in the Bios before I got to save and exit.. PC Shut off…This is so frustrating! Mind you all of this started with things overheating me changing the thermal paste, something burning one day, and then PC started to shut off more and more often. Today I changed the power supply something snapped and even while in the bios PC shut off… what I felt was more hot was the CPU exactly where the fan and chip are…My guess are either the thermal paste went bad, it leaked where it shouldn’t (but doesn’t seem to be on the green chip after checking with lantern), or after the first time something overheated that was the CPU and it got screwed up since then, and then frying my replaced power supply which only had 350watts.. (great job from CYBERPOWER and NEWEGG)!

Hi, I just checked them both and it didn’t leak on any of them (CPU nor GPU) this time however, first time I replaced the paste it had leaked a little on the pings of the GPU but I had cleaned it from pins when replacing the paste again. This thermal paste 2nd replace was after the 1st smoke smell (no electric snaps that time). Have not change the software, my pc is not overclocked it is running on regular standard established settings. I changed things but revert them to normal since PC anyway kept shutting off. I was thinking of that removing the video card and see if there is the problem. I’ll post again soon. however my latest update besides this is the following:

Is this a system that you put together?

Sounds more like the motherboard is grounding its self out on the case.
