I have an r9 card that I’m pretty sure is dead but that’s about it.

After 3 years it just stopped being able to play games, I actually had to use intel graphics cause it got so bad while I waited for the card I have now.

Were you using the R9 GPU with the same PSU as you have now.

Not ideal for testing really but you could try the R9 even if just to see if the problem is still present when only browsing etc but not gaming.

I’ll try it, cant remember exactly what system I had it in because I know I’ve had different systems in the past but only the one now I’ve built myself. I think i had it in one system then moved it to another… maybe.

Yea the card is really noisy and will get me to bios but won’t launch into the OS.

Have you uninstalled the drivers for the GTX 1060 and installed the drivers for the R9.

That`s the end of that then

Any chance of a friend testing your GTX 1060 for you.

Probably not because all of my friends are at college now.

I feel like an idiot but because of all the talk about the verge’s pc build I just noticed my PSU was upside down, assuming I put it in wrong back when I upgraded my pc. Not sure how that would affect my pc but yeah, that was a thing.

The problem still persists with the very short stutters but now that I think about it I probably put my PSU in wrong back when I got a new fan earlier in the thread. When I got the new fan I rewired the case and took out a hard drive bay that was constricting my PSU in terms of plugging in cables. I think the stutters can be chalked up to the motherboard although I guess there’s no way to know for sure without trying a new one.

Disregard this post, I managed to fix what I was having problems with although stuttering is still a thing at this point I think I might have to live with it.

                              That would overheat the PSU.

Couldn`t say for sure and trying an alternative PSU and GPU would still be the best option, if you can live with the stutters fine but if not it looks like you will need the services of a local tech store.

Well I’m pretty sure the freezes were just a PSU overheating problem because that seems to be fixed but these stutters did only happen once I upgraded and it doesn’t bug me that much, will probably upgrade my GPU soon if I can find a good deal.
