Ive Been Trying to overclock my cpu for a while now its a R7 1800X on the site it said its max boost clock is 4.0 ghz {Base Clock Is 3.60} and max memory speed is 2667 mhz {base is like 2100} but anytime i go over the base amount my cpu is when my pc boots up is capped at 2.20 ghz why? i have a water cooler so i should be able to handle the thermals

yes i always overclock ion the bios and yes the green circle led is lit but it isnt overclocked right now i reset it back to factory so my pc would run right for nowOriginally posted by jmarketAre you overclocking it in BIOS?

I assume you’ve set the XMP profile to Auto.
This motherboard is known for failure to OC. And even if you did, it’ll fail and die.
Most people can OC the RAM using XMP and it’ll work fine.Comment

Is the BIOS fully up-to-date? The board has a BIOS button. The latest version of the BIOS is Version 6201.
