My PC says i have a controller connected HELP!

Okay, first off, I have never connected a controller of any kind to my computer. This has been an issue for me ever since I built this PC. Under devices in the settings tab it claims i have an Xbox 360 controller connected and certain games try to make me use it. I’ve never owned an xbox 360 or controller. It says it’s connected by USB but my only USB connections are keyboard/mouse/charger and unplugging all of them doesn’t even remove the controller so it can’t be those. I can manually remove the controller from my devices but after shutting off my computer and turning it back on the controller is back again. I’m using a Ryzen 5, MSI 1060, 16gb RAM, I have both a SSD/HDD connected, windows 10.

Since removing isn’t working, have you tried disabling the device in Device Manager?

Lets clean up all the old drivers related to your USB devices.

        [ul]
[li]Remove All usb connected items from the computer, only leave the mouse and keyboard installed. [/li][li]Download devicecleanup.zip to your desktop.[/li][li]CLICK HERE to determine whether you’re running 32-bit or 64-bit for Windows.[/li][li]Once the determination has been made, open either the 32-bit or 64-bit folder.[/li][li]Right Click the .exe on the inside of the folder, and Run as Administrator. [/li][li]A command prompt window will open, telling you what has been removed upon completion.[/li][li]Reboot your machine.[/li][li]Check the issue.[/li][/ul]
